I decided to create this site as a complement to my work at Correio Sabiá to test open-source projects. Below, a quick and intuitive journey through some professional achievements in my career.
1. Creation of Correio Sabiá
In 2018, I created the first news company in Brazil launched on WhatsApp. It was a content distribution strategy to combat misinformation and generate trust through user word-of-mouth.
2. Media Leader by ICFJ
In 2020, I became a media leader for Latin America and the Caribbean in an ICFJ (International Center for Journalists) Professional Fellowship. This allowed for the creation of new media products within Correio Sabiá.
3. Creation of platō
In 2022, Correio Sabiá was one of 16 news organizations selected for Google Startups Lab in Brazil, an acceleration program. We created platō, an interactive platform for the audience to ask questions and be answered by journalists.
4. Electoral Pulpo, launched
In 2023, platō was launched at WebSummit. Later, it was selected for Accelerating Digital Businesses by Meta with ICFJ. Finally, it was refined by Leap, ICFJ's news innovation lab for AI use. Through the Jogo Limpo program, where we were one of 10 organizations in Brazil, we created Pulpo Anti Fiction, Brazil's first project to promote discoveries about electoral systems worldwide. I also became a media leader for the Gabo Foundation. I went to Buenos Aires twice to represent my newspaper.
5. Mentoring and lectures
In 2024, with support from USAID, Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), and Internews, I was chosen to mentor over 40 journalists and researchers from the Amazon to create their news dissemination channels, audience engagement, and community building. Also in 2024, I gave lectures in Bologna, Italy, and at the International Congress of Abraji, always about creative ways to engage audiences.
6. More experiments with AI
In 2025, I was one of 10 selected to discuss transparency with AI use in journalism by Trusting News. Correio Sabiá was one of 9 startups selected by WhatsApp for an acceleration, developing an AI-powered chatbot to answer questions about the environment and elections.
7. Where I've been before
Previously, I covered the Presidency as a reporter. I lived in Brasília for 3 years. I worked in several major Brazilian newspapers and signed articles in most of them, such as O Globo, Extra, Poder360, Estadão, The Intercept, and more. I also wrote for openDemocracy and still occasionally contribute to IJNet. Texts in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
